Graduated from the Department of Computer Engineering & Informatics in University of Patras before obtaining a MSc in Machine Learning and Bioinformatics from the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications in University of Athens. He earned a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics and Artificial Intelligence applications in Biology before extending his Postdoctoral experience in the Department of Genetics of Perelman School of Medicine in University of Pennsylvania. He has published many influential papers in reputable scientific journals describing the application of Machine Learning based Big Data analytics for addressing complex Biological questions.

Holds a MSc in Electrical and Computer Engineering and a BSc in Computer Engineering, and has over 7 years of research experience in Computer Science. He specializes in Deep Learning and Machine Learning applications for Hardware Security, Hardware Design, Biomedical Research and Agriculture Robotics. He has participated in a multitude of interdisciplinary projects and collaborated with the Institute for Research and Technology, Hellenic Pasteur Institute, Institute of Bio-Economy & Agri-Technology Centre for Research & Technology Hellas, Central European Institute of Technology and Circuits and Systems Group in University of Thessaly.
